VR Project: 3-Week Game Development Challenge

My VR Concept for Columbia’s Game Development class. We had three weeks to design and develop a game prototype as long as it was "Original" in some aspect. While melee combat and archery are one-to-one in VR, I had yet to see a magic system that wasn’t “point and click” activation based. So I developed a "Grid and Pattern" based magic system where the player must draw specific patterns on a 3x3 grid in order to activate specific abilities. This gives the player a new skill set to learn, evens the playing field against melee-only combatants, and provides a new kind of challenge.
